SUZANNE BURGE, LCSW

Licensed Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor

MY PRACTICE

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York, I have been providing therapy for the last 10 years. In my decade long career as a social worker I have worked in foster care, hospice care (adults and pediatrics), homeless drop in centers, HIV clinics/hospitals, and elder community centers and nursing homes, providing therapy for people of all age groups and all walks of life.

In our first sessions, we will get to know each other; verbalize personal boundaries and set goals. This is non-judgmental, sex-positive, trauma informed, open & safe space to explore thoughts and verbalize needs. I will do my best to guide you where you want to go and to provide different angles from a neutral perspective.

I have experience in working with clients that have experienced loss, immigration, complicated family traumas, life transitions, exploration of sexual identities, non-monogamy/poly affirming, existential political anxiety and the effects of social pressures like racial and economic stressors. I help my clients work through their thoughts and feelings and help them focus on their internal strengths and find their self determination, goals and happiness.

Suzanne received her undergraduate degree in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington as well as a Masters degree from the Silver School of Social Work, at New York University (NYU).

I feel more grounded and optimistic, ready to embrace life with a renewed sense of purpose. One of the reasons I chose Suzanne was her Asian heritage, as I felt we might share similarities in upbringing. That connection made a difference—she was able to carefully analyze my challenges and guide me toward a healthier way of thinking about them.I highly recommend Suzanne to anyone struggling to adapt to life in NYC or facing personal challenges. She’s not only insightful but also incredibly warm and easy to talk to.”
